In mid November, we delivered our sixth donated truckload of apple cider to the Greater Boston Food Bank to support their efforts in reducing the increased food insecurity that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought on. The first four truckloads were delivered last spring, and actually included Carlson Orchards Gourmet Lemonade as well as Carlson’s apple cider; the two truckloads donated more recently were full of apple cider to support GBFB’s Thanksgiving
meal efforts.
New England Apple’s packaging suppliers greatly assisted this initiative; Rocheleau Plastics of Fitchburg donated all of the half gallon bottles, while Silgan Plastics, headquartered in Connecticut, donated colorful orange bottle caps, Creative Labels of Vermont provided free labels, and WestRock Company of Atlanta, via their corrugated plant in Devens, Mass., provided cardboard shipping boxes. “We’re very grateful to our packaging suppliers for helping with this effort,” said Steve Rowse, adding “Their contributions allowed us to increase the volume that we’ve been able to donate to GBFB.”
